MEDIAPRO to produce Virtual Reality live broadcast of the UAE Football League

The agreement includes at least 10 of the most attractive remaining matches of the current season.

The UAE professional football league and Mediapro Middle East have agreed to enable the live streaming in Virtual Reality (VR) of matches of the Arabian Gulf League competitions for the remainder of the 2017/18 season.

MEDIAPRO will produce at least 10 of the most attractive remaining matches of the AGL competitions of the current season and has partnered with award-winning specialist Vysion to use its Vroadcaster platform for the delivery of the live streaming and the VOD content that will be made available.

Viewers in the UAE will enjoy a groundbreaking immersive experience as if they were pitch-sided or sitting at the stadium, being able to select their own camera viewpoint, through a specially designed VR App (Android, IOS and web based), all under the umbrella of what will be called the “AGL VR Seat Experience” and sponsored by telecommunication giant Etisalat.

This innovative project joins those already developed by the MEDIAPRO Group within its growing digital area and represents a step forward in its commitment to the creation of virtual reality content, an investment born from its museum and exhibition space and videogames content development divisions.

MEDIAPRO has a leading position in the TV production of sports events globally, producing +3,500 events per year, including major football properties as LaLiga, UEFA Champions League, AFC and FIFA, and has been technically servicing the TV broadcasting of the UAE football competitions since year 2007.
