Imagine Products Releases Industry’s Only All-in-One Tool for File Comparison, Search, Report, and Verification

Imagine Products Inc., creator of software utilities for backing up, viewing, sharing, transcoding, and archiving video assets, has released TrueCheck, a one-of-a-kind file comparison, search, report, and verification tool. With a combination of capabilities, including a unique comparison feature, available nowhere else, TrueCheck helps anyone who handles large numbers of files to ensure mirror images, verify data integrity, generate reports for themselves or others, and do so much more.

“This product is unique not only because it contains the only M&E-specific comparison tool out there, but also because there is nothing on the market that has all these features in one place. People would have to use multiple products to accomplish half of what they can do in TrueCheck,” said Michelle Maddox, marketing director at Imagine Products. “We take customer feedback very seriously. Each of the features is the direct result of requests from customers over the years, so we know this is a tool they need.”

TrueCheck has five core functions: Compare, Generate, Search, View, and Verify.

Unlike other comparison utilities, which are geared toward comparing code or text, TrueCheck’s Compare is the only one built to help people in the media and entertainment (M&E) industry evaluate video, audio, and related files. The Compare function allows users to compare files and folders for sameness and differences and locate a file inside of a folder or volume. Multiple comparison options mean users can get the exact comparison they need. For example, they can select “match by checksum value” or “file system attributes” such as name, size, date created, and date modified. Folder options include “check folder structure equality,” “show folders with commonality,” or “compare folders – files only.”

Through the Generate function, users can choose from multiple report options and generate a thorough PDF report — complete with thumbnails and metadata — of any attached media, volume, folder, or files dropped into the queue. The ability to create PDF reports with thumbnails without performing a copy fulfills the No. 1 feature request from users of ShotPut Pro, Imagine Products’ copying utility.

The Search function makes it possible to do a deep search using industry-specific parameters, such as camera manufacturer. As a result, users can perform a much more detailed, thorough search than is possible in Finder.

View allows users to create checksums for any file, folder, etc., while Verify makes it possible to verify file integrity with thumbnails. TrueCheck supports two different types of checksum verification files: an industry-standard Media Hash List (MHL) and a simple text list of files and checksums. TrueCheck will compare the referenced checksums against those calculated for the files within the associated volume.

TrueCheck is especially useful for file organization in group settings, where multiple people are working on a project at once. Unless team members are on a shared network, there’s no good way to ensure that each of their drives contains all the same files. In situations where there are multiple copies of files floating around, TrueCheck will show if the files are an exact mirror image of each other or where the differences lie. Light and dark are available for any environment.

Be tv Belgium Selects Custom Consoles Module-R Desks

This new project comprises a total of seven desks which will integrated into Be tv’s headquarters in Charleroi.

“We were attracted to Custom Consoles by their evident long experience in producing attractively styled, ergonomically efficient and robust broadcast control room furniture,” says Be tv’s Broadcast Engineering & Maintenance Manager Serge Daneels. “The Module-R series formed a basis from which we could specify exactly the style and size of desks we needed without the high cost of commissioning tailor-made designs.”

Largest of the desks is a 7.27 metre wide by 2.64 metre curved master control room console designed for simultaneous use by up to eight production staff. Each team member has access to a dedicated 4U equipment pod positioned at the rear of the work surface.

Second in size is a 4.7 metre wide desk, also curved. Each of the the outer bays is equipped with two 4U equipment pods.

Desk 3 is an L-shaped design, 4 metres wide by 2.5 metres deep, with a 45 degree angled corner unit and a total of nine 4U high equipment pods. This is configured for use by four master control room operators.

Fourth desk in the project is a rectangular 2.2 metre wide ingest console with two bays, each bay equipped with dual 4U equipment pods. The left-hand bay is extended to provide additional horizontal space behind the worktop.

Desk 5 is a rectangular live production console, 3.1 metres in width and configured as two identical bays. Each bay of this unit is equipped with dual 4U high equipment pods offset to the right. An EVS vision mixer control panel is embedded directly into the left segment of the right-hand bay.

Desk 6 is similar in configuration to Desk 5 but with an EVS vision mixer control panel embedded into the left-hand bay and a total of five 4U high equipment pods. This too is assigned for use as a live production console.

The seventh desk is a compact single-bay live production console, just over 1 metre in width  and fitted with two 4U high equipment pods.

All seven desks are finished in grey with dark blue Marmoleum worktop surfaces and silver anodised extruded aluminium legs with steel skids. All equipment pods adjoin the worktop rear and are positioned with the front facias sloping back at 45 degrees from vertical. Concealed cable ducting from floor level for is provided via the legs and between all desk bays.

A mix-and-matchable control room furniture range, Custom Consoles’ Module-R enables aesthetically attractive long-life desks to be configured in a variety of shapes and dimensions from a selection of high-quality pods, base sections, 19 inch rack housings, worktops, end-panel modules and legs. Coordinated desk pods are available as single-bay sections with up 10 rack unit chassis capacity.Module-R has been tested by FIRA to ensure compliance with current ISO standards. It is supplied with full cable management and internal 19 inch racking, accessible via removable front and rear cover panels. All rear surfaces and pods are completely interchangeable. A full length cable brush enables easy reconfiguration.

The latest version of LiveTouch incorporates 4K UHD slow-motion replay, direct playout and full super slow-motion support (2x, 3x, 4x, 6x, 8x). The new super slo-mo speeds, as well as support for HDR, make it ideal for pairing with the high-end capabilities of Grass Valley LDX cameras in either remote or at-home productions.

The new integrated LiveTouch HDR capability easily handles colour mapping from any format to the production format of choice, eliminating the need for external HDR processing. Users can also work across multiple formats and resolutions.
