“POR H O POR B” premieres 22nd July on HBO

HBO Spain will premiere the entire season of “Por H o por B” on its platform this coming July 22, a series directed by Manuela Burló Moreno that paints a portrait of modern-day Malasaña conquered by two explorers recently arrived from Parla.

The comedy consists of ten half-hour episodes produced by Globomedia (THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO) and Lacoproductora for HBO Europe in Spain.

Starring Marta Martín and Saida Benzal. “Por H o por B” takes the characters from Burló Moreno’s Goya-nominated short film “Pipas”, also directed by Burló Moreno. Set in modern-day Madrid, with an epicenter in the Malasaña neighborhood, actors Brays Efe, Itziar Castro, Javier Bódalo and Fernando Albizu, among others, complete the cast of the comedy.

After a few years of not speaking to each other, childhood friends Hache and Belén are reunited and find themselves living in the hipster Madrid neighborhood of Malasaña, a far cry from their roots on the outskirts of the city. The inevitable culture clash leads to a cataclysm of ridiculous and awkward consequences as they navigate their friendship, and the fake new world they’re now a part of.

Manuela Burló Moreno recovers the characters from her short film “Pipas”, nominated for the Goya for Best Drama Short. Burló Moreno has also written and directed the films “Rumbos” and “Cómo sobrevivir a una despedida”, in addition to several award-winning and internationally acclaimed short films.

“Por H o por B” with Javier Pons and Jorge Pezzi as Executive Producers for Globomedia (THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO) and Lacoproductora respectively; and Miguel Salvat, Steve Matthews and Antony Root for HBO Europe.
