Just Add Power Introduces New Instant Install Application

Just Add Power (J+P), a leader in Ultra HD over IP video distribution, announced today that the company has expanded its Just OS firmware ecosystem with the addition of the Instant Install application. Making its debut in booth 1817 at CEDIA Expo 2019, the application provides fast auto configuration for any gigabit switch.

With the Instant Install app, installers can easily incorporate any gigabit switch that supports jumbo frames — managed or not — into their J+P matrix. They simply connect their devices anywhere on the switch and click a single button, and their devices are found and configured, and a driver is built — all in less than two minutes.

“Installers have been asking for an app that would take the guesswork out of any project, and we’re proud to announce that it’s here,” said Taft Stricklin, sales team manager for J+P. “With the Instant Install app, one click is all that’s needed to configure all the devices connected to the gigabit switch. A few lucky integrators have already seen it in action, and they’ve been blown away by its speed and reliability.”

In addition to the Instant Install app, the Just OS ecosystem comprises J+P’s Plug-Play-Present logic control for intuitive and reliable connection and switching of sources; the Switch Please web application for matrix switching of any J+P device from any web browser; and the Every Switch Supported firmware, which allows integrators to build any size 4K matrix on an existing network without having to change switches.

Just Add Power Set to Rock and Rotate at CEDIA Expo 2019

Just Add Power (J+P) announced its technology line up for CEDIA Expo 2019 (CEDIA), taking place Sept. 12-14 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. At Booth 1817, the company will highlight a range of solutions designed to simplify multiroom video installations for the residential market. These solutions will include the 3G+ 767DSS Dante Enhanced Sound System transmitter — showing for the first time at CEDIA — and the new Warp Engine transmitter/receiver, Instant Install application, and slim two-gang HDMI wall plate, all of which will be making their world debut. The company is also hosting its annual CEDIA party on Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Summit Music House.

“This year at CEDIA, visitors to our booth will experience a variety of products that introduce exciting new capabilities to the Ultra HD Over IP ecosystem,” said Taft Stricklin, sales team manager at J+P. “Our 767DSS transmitter adds compatibility with Dante and AES67 audio networks, while the Warp Engine allows installers to get creative with their video walls by mounting displays at any angle. In addition, the Instant Install application takes all the guesswork out of any project — integrators who have seen it in action have been floored by its speed and reliability — while our new HDMI wall plate offers a slim design for installation flexibility.”

The 767DSS transmitter is the industry’s first such solution to support the latest Dante eight-channel chipset. The transmitter allows installers to input up to eight audio channels from the J+P system for playout on Dante-enabled and AES67 devices and extract up to eight channels from the audio network for playout across the J+P system. The 767DSS is backward-compatible with legacy two-channel Dante and AES67 devices while offering higher performance with lower compression — bit rates of 176.4 and 192 kilohertz — and latency as low as 0.25 milliseconds on Gigabit Ethernet.

With the new Warp Engine, installers can rotate any HDMI source — cable boxes, media players, game systems, cameras, and more — in a J+P matrix in 0.1-degree increments in real time for incredibly low latency. The rotated image can then be sent to an unlimited number of receivers in the network, allowing for the creation of massive artistic video walls using a single Warp Engine. Fully HDCP-2.2-compliant, the unit can be added to any J+P 3G or 2GΩ/3G system running Just OS.

Part of Just OS, the Instant Install application allows installers to easily incorporate any gigabit switch that supports jumbo frames — managed or not — into their J+P matrix. They simply connect their devices anywhere on the switch and click a single button, and their devices are found and configured, and a driver is built — all in less than two minutes.

J+P’s new two-gang HDMI wall plate is less than 1 inch deep, offering installers the flexibility of mounting it in a table, podium, or the thin walls of international installations. The thin wall plate features a field-serviceable modular design, making it easy to service with a screwdriver in the event of damage.

Each day at 3 p.m. during CEDIA, J+P will give away one of three classic red bullseye-designed Kramer ’84 guitars. For each guitar awarded, J+P will donate four acoustic guitars — with the winner’s name on them — and a year’s worth of lessons to American military veterans.

For the third year in a row, to celebrate CEDIA, J+P will roll out the red carpet with an invitation to party with Dr. Crüe, the world’s premier Mötley Crüe tribute band, Sept. 12 at the Summit Music House, with doors opening at 7 p.m. The event is sponsored in partnership with Luxul, and attendees can pick up tickets at the J+P booth.

Just Add Power Set to Shred at CEDIA 2019 With ‘Guitars For Vets’ Giveaway

Just Add Power (J+P) announced the company will be giving away three classic red bullseye-designed Kramer ’84 guitars at CEDIA Expo 2019 — Sept. 12-14 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver — as part of J+P’s partnership with Guitars For Vets (G4V). Attendees will have the chance to win a guitar each day of the expo in booth 1817. For each guitar given away, J+P will donate four acoustic guitars — with the winner’s name on them — and a year’s worth of lessons to American veterans.

This is the fourth year J+P has held a guitar giveaway. This year’s prize — the Kramer ’84 — is styled in the image of the original Kramer Baretta of 1984, played by such master shredders as Eddie Van Halen and Mötley Crüe’s Mick Mars. For a chance to win, attendees must visit J+P’s booth to enter and be present during the daily 3 p.m. drawing.

“This is the fourth year we’ve given away guitars at CEDIA to support and raise the visibility of G4V’s important mission,” said Taft Stricklin, sales team manager for J+P. “This year, 12 veterans will receive brand-new guitars. With G4V, vets have described rehab as band camp, where they learn, create, and bond with other vets to make music. Music is a powerful healing tool. We couldn’t be prouder to be a part of helping these deserving heroes.”

Founded in 2007, G4V donates guitars to veterans using the medium of music to help them readjust to life after service and cope with the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder. G4V currently operates more than 80 chapters in 40 states across the U.S. with the assistance of over 200 volunteers nationwide.

During CEDIA, J+P is also rolling out the red carpet with an invitation to party with Dr. Crüe, the premier Mötley Crüe tribute band, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Summit Music House in Denver. Sponsored in partnership with Luxul, attendees can pick up tickets at booth 1817.

Just Add Power Turns Up the Volume at InfoComm 2019 With New Dante Enhanced Sound System Transmitter

Just Add Power (J+P) announced its technology lineup for InfoComm 2019, taking place June 12-14 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. In Booth 633, the company’s new 3G+ 767DSS Dante Enhanced Sound System transmitter will take center stage. The transmitter adds compatibility with Dante and AES67 audio networks to Ultra HD over IP systems, with separate switching of audio and video. J+P will also highlight its new five-year warranty for all HDMI over IP transmitters and receivers in the company’s 2GΩ/3G and 3G families, the 726TVI 2G/3G+ TVI PoE transmitter, and the new Q-SYS plug-in for QSC control.

“At InfoComm, our 767DSS transmitter will be making its North American debut, and we can’t wait for visitors to our booth to see how easy it is to incorporate Dante and AES67 audio networks into J+P systems,” said Taft Stricklin, sales team manager at J+P. “Our customers will be blown away by our new five-year warranty, which is unheard of and really speaks to the performance and durability of our solutions. If that isn’t enough, we’ll also highlight solutions that add even more flexibility to our HD over IP system, including a transmitter that supports HD-TVI sources and a Q-SYS plug-in for QSC control. Last but not least, we’ll be making a big announcement at the show, so be sure not to miss that. It’s going to be a great time in Orlando, and we can’t wait to see you there.”

The 767DSS is backward-compatible with legacy two-channel Dante and AES67 devices, while offering higher performance with lower compression — bit rates of 176.4 and 192 kilohertz — and latency as low as 0.25 milliseconds on Gigabit Ethernet. Secondary connectivity is built-in for glitch-free performance and to provide redundancy for high-availability applications.

Effective immediately, J+P’s new five-year warranty covers parts and replacements for any 2GΩ/3G and 3G solution sold on or after March 1, 2019. J+P’s 2GΩ/3G transmitters and receivers allow integrators to build a scalable and cost-effective infrastructure to distribute sources up to 1080p resolution or meet evolving 4K requirements by mixing and matching devices. 2GΩ/3G+ solutions integrate seamlessly with all product generations of J+P, allowing integrators to build a future-proof infrastructure that suits any application requirement.

Additional transmitters on display will include the 726TVI, which adds TVI support to J+P’s 3G HD over IP system. Eliminating the need for a TVI-HDMI converter in the IP video distribution chain, the 726TVI gives integrators the flexibility to add an HD-TVI source to their 4K infrastructure. Features include line-in for custom audio embedding, local HDMI pass-through, and USB 2.0 for pass-through camera control. Video image capabilities include push, pull, and pop for on-screen customization.

The new Q-SYS plug-in offers full control of J+P AV over IP systems using any network switch. Q-SYS is a software-based platform built around an open, IT-friendly ecosystem. Its usage of IT standard protocols makes the Q-SYS Platform highly extensible for future IT functions and platforms.

Just Add Power Pumps Up Players and Wows Recruits in Revamped University of Memphis Locker Room

Just Add Power (J+P) announced that its Ultra HD over IP video distribution system has been installed in the University of Memphis Tigers’ renovated locker room at the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. Tasked with creating a unique atmosphere in the space to wow recruits and pump up players before games, Miestro Home Integration relied on J+P’s solutions to cost-effectively and reliably distribute video content to a variety of video walls and large displays.

“In the past we utilized traditional chassis-based matrix systems for video distribution, but have made the switch to AV over IP,” says Lamar Gibson, president of Miestro Home Integration. “Among the solutions available, we’ve consistently had tremendous success with Just Add Power. Not only is the company’s 3G Ultra HD Over IP system cost-effective, but it delivers outstanding scalability, fast switching, and unmatched reliability.”

The university’s Ultra HD Over IP system offers ultra-low 16 ms of latency from source to screen and supports 4K Ultra HD resolutions and HDMI 2.0 devices with HDCP 2.2. The platform enables seamless switching between any resolution HDMI source as well as uncompressed lossless multichannel audio formats, including Dolby Atmos support. Video wall functionality is built-in for displays installed in portrait and flipped configurations as well as image push, pull, and pop features. An integrated scaler on the receiver automatically adjusts the picture to fit the screen.

Each video source in the Tigers’ locker room — a live feed from the field, four media players that deliver custom content, a Comcast cable box, and a direct feed for a local laptop connection — is equipped with J+P’s VBS-HDIP-707 transmitter. VBS-HDIP-508 PoE receivers are attached to 14 displays and one projector, including four two-panel video walls in horizontal and vertical orientations, a three-panel vertical video wall, a 98-inch display, a 75-inch touchscreen in the coach’s office, and a 65-inch display in the medical bay.

The J+P platform is engineered to provide complete scalability, so expanding the system with an additional screen or source is as simple as adding another receiver or transmitter. This was an important feature for the university, as the locker room also features 105 standalone displays — one above each locker — in addition to three additional touchscreens. With an eye on future expansion, the standalone locker displays and touchscreens have been pre-wired for inclusion in the J+P system.

“In college football, winning requires elite talent and it’s no secret that many schools will go to extraordinary lengths each year to get it,” said Taft Stricklin, sales team manager at J+P. “This installation showcases that AV technology can be used to differentiate a football program from the pack and wow recruits, while highlighting the important role that reliable and flexible video distribution plays in creating these environments. We’re proud to be part of the Tigers’ efforts. And they’ve paid off; their 2019 recruiting class is looking to be the best in the school’s history.”

Just Add Power Adds Training to Spring 2019 Schedule

Due to high demand, Just Add Power (J+P) announced the addition of three new Level 1 System Design & Configuration training sessions to its spring 2019 schedule. Taking place May 15-17, May 29-31, and June 26-28 at the company’s Largo, Florida headquarters, the course is designed to provide attendees with an introduction to J+P, HDMI over IP, and basic networking, while offering a hands-on experience setting up a system from beginning to end.

“To provide attendees with the best training experience possible, we have always kept our class sizes small — an approach that has earned us a lot of positive feedback,” said Eric Martin, education director at Just Add Power. “However, at the rate that residential and commercial installers are switching to Just Add Power from legacy HDMI matrix solutions, it has also meant a pronounced shortage of spaces in our spring schedule. We are thrilled to have this problem. And since we won’t compromise on the quality of our training, the only solution is to open our doors for more classes.”

J+P’s Level 1 System Design & Configuration course combines the skills of the company’s knowledgeable staff with a relaxed, bespoke, and integrator-centered experience. Led by Martin, the three-day training session stays true to the evolutionary product philosophy of the company, covering the entire chain of use, including product tutorials, system design, installation scenarios, and troubleshooting. Holding the sessions at J+P’s headquarters allows integrators to enjoy a beautiful Florida beachside setting, as well as access to the expert staff at all levels of the company, including CEO and founder Ed Qualls. Dinners with the J+P team let attendees witness first-hand the culture of the company — valuing a deep product knowledge, teamwork, collaboration, and making the job fun.

To register for one of the newly added Level 1 System Design & Configuration training sessions, please visit http://www.bit.ly/HDIPspring2019. Space is limited and expected to fill quickly, so reserve your spot now.
