With TITAN Playout, ATEME brings content providers, broadcasters and TV stations a new breed of playout solution, delivering a high level of rendering, flexibility and availability. Metadator 2.0

Digital Nirvana’s Metadator 2.0 is a secure, scalable software-as-a-service platform that automates the process of metadata generation for production, pre-production, and live content.

Metadator 2.0 includes an off-the-shelf integration with Avid Interplay for automated speech-to-text generation that simplifies the process of automated transcription and metadata generation with locators for Avid users. The application, integrated with video intelligence, is capable of object identification, on-screen text recognition, shot-change detection, and explicit content detection.

Metadator 2.0 automates the entire process of transcription and metadata generation for Avid-based assets. It provides an opportunity to maintain consistent metadata, thereby facilitating faster time to market by ensuring relevant assets get identified more efficiently. Metadator 2.0 automatically generates locators that help users search and identify content effortlessly within Avid.

Caption Quality Check

To resolve the inherent technical complexities involved with producing closed captions for different distribution channels, Digital Nirvana is launching Caption Quality Check, an application built with content producers in mind. Some of the product’s key features include reporting operational and technical non-conformance, automatic corrections, format conversion, and frame-rate conversion.

Caption Quality Check accepts different file formats (such as SCC, SRT, EBU-STL, WebVTT, SMPTE-TT, and JSON) as inputs via the portal, S3 bucket, and APIs. Users can choose from a combination of automatic and manual services to ensure premium-quality output and receive publish-ready captions in the formats requested for distribution via various platforms, including OTT and VOD.

The design of the Caption Quality Check service improves overall user experience. Its simplified, automated, and customized workflow allows customers to automate their requests and work-order assignments to maximize productivity.

Digital Nirvana offers postproduction captioning services with near-live and weekly turnaround options for a variety of video formats. The platform can take in video in a variety of formats and provide output caption files in multiple formats as specified by the customer. Secure protocol implementation, with layers of security, helps with the safe transfer of content into the cloud and back again. The speech-to-text (STT) integration helps transcript editors receive output from an automated system for further editing for higher accuracy. Adoption of STT makes the work process more efficient, thereby saving a great deal of labor and ensuring faster turnarounds while also handling increased volumes. The processed files are passed on to the caption editors, who edit the content based on the guidelines prescribed by the customer/regulation. Files are prioritized based on turnarounds and skill-set requirements. Upon request, Digital Nirvana will provide preliminary files in the form of direct output from the STT engine. Customers can opt for caption files in multiple formats for the same video asset, which in turn can be published over multiple platforms including OTT, VOD, and social media.

MultiDyne Fiber Optic Solutions will bring its first innovations specific to video compression to international audiences for the first time at IBC2019, where the fiber transport leader will demonstrate its now-shipping MD9200 range of encoders and decoders. MultiDyne exhibits at Stand 11.D40 from September 13-17 at RAI Amsterdam.

Ideal for linear broadcast/production and streaming media workflows (notably OTT and IPTV systems), the MD9200 series extends MultiDyne’s reach deeper into the signal processing chain. This strengthens MultiDyne’s value proposition as a core supplier of multi-purpose solutions from the content acquisition stage through to the studio/headend delivery point.

The MD9200 Family

The initial MD9200 series consists of encoders and decoders in stand-alone desktop configurations, and in the popular openGear card module form-factor. All MD9200 series products deliver exceptional bandwidth efficiency while maintaining signal integrity and visual quality. The openGear encoding and decoding modules unlock potential to reach an even broader customer base due to its compatibility with the entire openGear community of infrastructure products.

Both encoder models enable highly secure streaming from one to many destinations, supporting virtually any mix of streaming protocols. Each independent encoder accommodates unique frame size, frame rate, video/audio codecs and data configurations, and can independently encode separately HD and SD streams at high and low bit rates from a single SDI input.

Both decoders optimize 1080P AVC (H.264) and 1080i MPEG-2 compression, with optional support for very high bit-rate 2160P HEVC (H265) UHD streams. When using the OpenGear decoder (MD9200-DEC-OG), customers can house up to 20 decoding modules in a single 2RU openGear chassis for high-density signal de-compression to SDI and HDMI. The standalone MD9200-DEC delivers the same operational benefits and visual quality for point-to-point streaming.

Mediaproxy is expanding the capabilities of its LogServer IP-based logging, monitoring and analysis software through the integration of the Vidrovr enterprise video search platform. Using advanced machine learning techniques, this enables operators to find and check footage using a variety of tags, including people, text, audio and visual content.

Today’s playout storage systems can contain a huge number of programs. Mediaproxy LogServer has already proved itself to be the leading compliance program, allowing material to be logged, monitored and analyzed to ensure conforming with broadcast standards. The addition of Vidrovr makes it possible to search through massive libraries for specific titles and then isolate specific sequences and features within a video.

LogServer is able to capture live video from broadcast and OTT sources, with the ability to display them on multiviewers as well as monitor and analyze the content. It can also log on-air incidents, perform searches within files, verify advertisements and publish material to social media. Vidrovr is based on machine learning and has been developed in conjunction with end users to tailor the technology to their precise needs.
